Last term we had our Science Week when we read the story of the Gingerbread man and decided to help the Gingerbread man cross the river safely. We investigated which material would be the strongest to build a bridge for the Gingerbread man to cross. We also investigated which material would float so that we could build a boat for the Gingerbread man to sail across the river. We displayed our investigations on a poster.

Also we learnt about the Great Fire of London. In Art we thought about colour mixing to create the colours of fire as a background and then created a silhouette of the old, London houses. At the start of this term we had a visit from the local Fire Service. Firefighters told us about their work and what we should do if there is a fire. We also looked around a fire engine and looked at the clothing Fire fighters wear to keep them safe.
