PSHE and Citizenship encourages our children to be healthy, confident, independent and responsible members of society. We actively encourage our children to play a positive role in contributing to the life of the school and the community. We help develop their sense of selfworth and how to form successful relationships.
We teach the children to respect themselves and each other in what they say and do. Much of this is taught through weekly "Circle Times" based upon the Family links Nurture Programme.
Through the Woodstock Partnership of schools we offer Family Links courses for parents and carers.
We believe sex education is a shared responsibility between school and home. We approach all aspects of sex education in a sensitive and honest way and answer questions appropriate to each child. We teach children to use the correct vocabulary and support them through their physical, emotional and moral development. Parents and carers are given the opportunity to view materials used with the children and may withdraw their child from sex education lessons.
