On Thursday 9th March 2016 Swallow Class, alongside the rest of KS1, visited the Story Museum in Oxford. During this time we explored the different rooms in the museum including the animal exhibition, time for bed and the dressing up room. After a wonderful time exploring we were invited to the story telling room where we listened to a range of stories including the Monkey and the Crocodile. We loved the story so much that we continued thinking about it in our literacy lessons back at school. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Story Museum and would encourage anyone who hasn’t been there to take a trip to this hidden gem within Oxford!

The children in our key stage 1 classes had a visit from the Kidlington Fire Service on 12th April. The fire service brought their fire engine and lots of equipment to show the children. They talked to the children about keeping themselves safe and what to do if they are ever involved in a fire incident. The clear message to the children was "Get out, stay out, call the fire brigade". The children also learned about the need for fire alarms and regular testing.
