Welcome
At William Fletcher Primary School enabling children to be the best they can be is at the heart of everything we do. This means we strive for academic excellence, enabling all children to reach their full potential. But our school is more than this, we place great emphasis on our children being an active member of their school community and a global citizen. We focus on developing good manners, honesty, showing respect to others, being kind, taking responsibility for themselves and others.
We provide a broad and rich curriculum which meets the needs of the children living in our community. Each subject taught has been carefully designed by our teachers to enable the children to move through the school, building upon their knowledge, skills and experience to develop a deep understanding of each subject area.

The creative arts are an important part of our school. We link with a range of organisations to support our work in this area and to provide rich and engaging experiences for our children. We know that both enabling our children to be creative and giving time to be creative enhances so many other aspects of their lives.
William Fletcher is a UNICEF Rights Respecting School, this means that all of our children learn about the UN convention on the rights of the child. Here at William Fletcher these rights are lived out; children are given a voice and have the opportunity to lead on a range of initiatives.
Children’s wellbeing is just as important to us as their academic performance. Our children all take part in our well-developed PSHE programme which aims to provide children with the ability to understand and describe their feelings, to explore what positive relationships look like and to manage their feelings and emotions.
We have a skilled pastoral team who work with our children and families to support and help manage difficulties as they arise.
Visitors often comment upon the calm and positive atmosphere in our school and particularly how well-behaved, happy and courteous our children are.
If you would like your child to join us, please make a visit which can be arranged via the school office.
We look forward to meeting you!
